Overview

Often attempted, occasionally successful venture to western CT in search of elusive early-season ice climbing. This trip may occur at leader's discretion. Participants must have prior ice climbing experience, belay skills, and all required clothing, boots, and technical equipment including axes, crampons, helmet, harness, and belay device. Lack of ice or unsuitable weather conditions will cancel. Contact leader for more information.

Past co-chair of Climbing/Mountaineering Committee. Has been climbing for 11 years - trad, sport, gym, ice. Graduate of AMGA Single Pitch Instructor Course and Certified Wall Instructor. In addition to CT, has climbed in NH (Whitehorse, Cathedral, Rumney), NY (Gunks), WV (Seneca Rocks), Red Rocks, Moab. Internationally: Chamonix, Dolomites, Les Calanques de Marseille, Lofoten Islands and Tromsø (Norway) and Squamish (British Columbia).
