Join us in the northern White Mountains for loop around Mount Cabot, Bulge, and the Horn. This 11.1 mile lightly trafficked loop trail, located near Berlin, New Hampshire, covers some steep terrain. The trip may involve significant trail breaking and is likely to be a fun challenge and a long day in winter conditions. We will be climbing more than 3,100 feet, but will mostly be in the trees. You must be in good shape, own appropriate winter gear, and have winter hiking experience to participate in this hike. We plan to hike at an moderate but steady pace (1.5-2.0MPH). Note the northern location of this loop and plan your travel accordingly. Traveling some or all of the way on Friday evening may be preferable for some participants.
I have been active with the AMC since 2002 and and have been co-leading winter hiking and backpacking trips since 2012. While I have successfully completed a winter Pemi loop a successful presidential traverse continues to allude me. I'm hoping the weather hold this year! I've lead an AMC trip in Alaska hope to lead more in the future. On my own time, I'm ticking off national park visits with my husband and daughter. This year: Zion and Yosemite!
I love to hike and backpack, and lead all kinds of trips from beginner, to extra-long day hikes like a single day presi traverse, to multi-day backpacks and bushwhacks. I even lead trips overseas for the Adventure travel committee. It's all good! I've hiked the 100 Highest peaks in NE, the NH 4000 footers in winter, and hope to someday hike a long trail like the PCT or the AT.
