Overview

Join the 40 Plus Wednesday Wramblers for a day of cross-country skiing or snowshoeing at the Windblown Ski Touring Center in southern New Hampshire. Windblown has 40 kilometers of trails suitable for skiing and snowshoeing and offers a variety of landscapes including hills, valleys, ponds and hilltops. The touring center has a lovely fireplace and a café for lunch. This family run business does not take credit or debit cards. The cost of a trail pass is $16 (18-64 years old) or $14 (65+). For more information see http://www.windblownxc.com. In the winter our focus is on cross-country skiing. If the conditions are not good for skiing or the trails are closed, we will either snowshoe or hike. If we hike all participants use snowshoes or traction devices (such as micro-spikes) on their winter hiking boots. Pre-registration is required for all winter trips so that we can notify you by email the night before with an update on the conditions and the activities. The Wednesday Wramblers activities are part of 40 Plus's new Let's Get Out There! Local hikes and walks where the pace ranges from easy through moderate to faster. Whether you're new to hiking, haven't hiked for awhile or want to up your hiking level, you're bound to find something of interest in "Let's Get Out There!".

(best time to call: Before 9:00 PM)

I began leading bike trips for the AMC in 1990 and led for ten years before taking a break. When I became active with the Forty Plus Committee I decided to start leading again. I took a refresher leadership course and Wilderness First Aid and now I am certified as a cross-country ski and bike leader. I have met many wonderful leaders and trip participants and Forty Plus has become one of my most enjoyable retirement activities.
