This hike is a loop that departs from the Notch Visitors Center and explores the eastern section of the Holyoke Range. There are options as to which trails we take. The route will depend on conditions on the day of the hike. There may be short crossings of flowing water.
The hike is about 5 miles with rolling terrain. Estimated time is about 3 - 4 hours.
This is an intermediate hike.
Hikers need to be prepared for snow, ice, or rain. Poles are recommended for stability on possible slippery conditions. Spikes will be needed if the snow cover is not deep. If there is enough snow or ice snowshoes may be needed instead. Plan for cold weather and be prepared to adjust according to the actual weather conditions. Bring lunch, water and snacks.
Cancellation: The hike will be cancelled if the weather is severe or road conditions are dangerous.
