We will travel "fast and light" style to complete this 14 mile hike in roughly 4 hours.
This is a particularly interesting section of the Conestoga Trail but we will only be pausing at intersections to maintain group unity. Rest stops will be limited if any and everyone should plan to eat on the go. Hikers should be comfortable with wet creek crossings without need to stop and take off shoes and change socks, etc.
We will meet in the parking lot for the Lock 12 historic site at 7:30 AM (GPS 39.812183255, -76.3290621). From the meeting point we will car pool to the village of Pequea where we will commence our hike. There are some very steep and rocky descents with extremely poor footing especially towards the end of the hike when you will be most tired. This hike will not be cancelled in the event of bad weather. Bring a minimum of two liters of water and food that can be consumed while traveling and without stopping. No dogs.
