Canoe&Kayak, Sedge Islands, TW1&2

Date and Time

Friday, June 22, 2018 - Sunday, June 24, 2018

Island Beach State Park,
New Jersey, Central,

Registration is required for this activity.

An unbelievable paradise of sunsets and paddling. Wild-life and sea life abound, including clamming, guarding terrapin turtle eggs, and long or short course sea paddling. Bringing your own kayak, paddles, and PFDs is strongly recommended. All kayaks must have flotation: bulkheads or flotations bags. There are free sit-atop tandem kayaks, paddles, and PFDs available on the island, but this may limit which paddling tours you can choose. 1-2 expert sea kayak instructor/leaders will be attending to help. Some paddling experience is required. Rain, wind, current and tidal strength may curtail the lengths of paddles, but will not cancel the trip. Be prepared for "wilderness" level of insect presence in some parts of island at dusk. Be willing to share all cleaning chores, kitchen duty, and your part for the meal team that shapes our special pot luck celebration. The trip is co-sponsored by AMC and Sebago paddling clubs. Preference given to first adults who meet the criteria addressed above and who send the full cost via paypal (Paypal directions will be given when your registration is received).
