Round Top Mtn. and Sanders Hill Mtn.
Date: Saturday March 17, 2018
The Kennebec Highlands is a 6000 acre conservation area and the highest peaks in this greater area. We'll first ascend the 1133' high Round Top Mtn. via the Round Top Trail located off Watson Pond Rd. Round trip is 3.9 miles, or 4.5 miles including a spur trail. Round Top offers some great views. If we have additional time we'll take a short drive over to 854' high Sanders Hill Mtn. for a 2.9 mile loop. We'll keep a moderate pace with time for photos. Plan on snowshoes if there is good fresh snow, or microspikes or similar traction tools if icy or compacted snow. Bring appropriate winter clothing, snacks and fluids. For registration and information please contact Susan and include information on your hiking experience, hiking gear and any phone numbers.
