Overview

Explore the rich history of the Blackstone River area with this 2-3 mile leisurely family-friendly hike in the Blackstone River and Canal Heritage State Park in Uxbridge. The hike is perfect for families, children, and hikers of all ages and abilities. To add even more excitement to our hike, we will offer an optional scavenger hunt to discover the natural and historic wonders of the park, as we will be hiking on trails that uncover the history of the canal, which was used for trade in the 1800s. The terrain is mostly flat with few inclines. In addition to historic sites around the park, there may be wildlife sighting opportunities! We ask that all participants have sturdy walking shoes and appropriate layers for spring weather. For clothing, we'd recommend a mid-layer such as fleece, an outer layer/shell jacket, and comfortable pants. Rain cancels the hike. Please contact the leader to register. Exact time and location will be emailed to all registered participants.
