Overview

Join our adventure in California's Joshua Tree National Park! We'll get to explore two desert habitats: the Mojave and Sonoran deserts. In the northern section of the park, the Mojave Desert represents a "high desert (4,000 feet above sea level)," with cooler temperatures and a unique landscape of surreal rock formations that tower above the desert floor. The Colorado section of the Sonoran desert in Joshua Tree National Park represents the most arid region of North America. It is characterized by lower elevation, higher temperatures, and wide open spaces. Despite this climate, the Sonoran desert boasts a great diversity of plants and animals. Our visit to Joshua Tree National Park will give us opportunities to view both of these diverse landscapes. We will experience their flora and fauna as we travel and hike through the park.
