Craftsbury Common,
Vermont, Green Mountains,
VT
Bike, hike, and explore the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont with friends on this multi-day expedition. The region represents over 2,000 square miles of Vermont and is home to some of the state's most scenic and undisturbed locations. Bordered by Canada and northern New Hampshire, it's a hub for outdoor recreation. We will bike sections of the LaMoille Valley Rail Trail which has a small, crushed gravel surface, daily mileage between 20-30 miles. Hikes will range from easy to moderately difficult at a relaxed pace. Proper hiking gear, bike and tires in good condition, extra tubes and helmet are required. Lodging at Craftsbury Outdoor Center's Cedar Lodge; dormitory-style twin-bed rooms with shared bathrooms. A suite accommodating six individuals is also available. Common spaces include a lounge area and kitchenette. Use of the center's waterfront's equipment: canoes, kayaks and paddle boards on Lake Hosmer is available to use at your own risk and not part of this AMC trip. Also available is a fully equipped gym, lounge with sauna, washer/dryer plus more. Included are three nutritious, all-you-can-eat meals featuring local produce; a vegetarian option is available at each meal; other special diets can possibly be accommodated with advance notice. Bag lunches are available for hiking/biking days. Group size is very limited. Total price includes five nights in a shared room and all meals. Total cost: $438.50. A $90.00 deposit is required by January 11th. Contact L for more information and to register.
