SOLO Wilderness First Aid: The ability to apply basic backcountry first aid is vital for any outdoor enthusiast, whether it's for yourself or others. Moving beyond urban first aid, this course teaches the skills necessary to identify and treat medical issues common to wilderness settings and to prepare for long-term care scenarios. Includes hands-on practice and lectures. Upon completion, participants receive 16-hour SOLO Wilderness First Aid certification. This course may be used to recertify a current SOLO Wilderness First Responder (WFR) certification. A CPR certification will be offered in the evening of the first day, this is optional. Program Highlights: -Focuses on the basic skills of: Response and Assessment, Musculoskeletal Injuries, Environmental Emergencies, Survival Skills, Soft Tissue Injuries, and Medical Emergencies -Coverage of topics balances classroom instructional sessions with hands-on practice in the outdoors -Nationally recognized certification for 2 years Sample Itinerary: Friday 3pm - Arrival at Knubble Bay 5:30-7:30pm - Dinner Saturday Breakfast 9am - Classroom & Practical Session 12n - Lunch 1pm - Classroom & Practical Session 4:30 - Class end first day 4:35 - Optional CPR Training\ Dinner Sunday Breakfast 8:30 - Classroom & Practical Session 12n - Lunch 1pm - Classroom & Practical Session 4:30 - WFA Quiz 5:30 - Class end
