Teen Wilderness Adventures is introducing Outdoor Skills Adventure to allow participants to learn about basic backpacking skills including map/compass, how to pack a backpack, and Leave No Trace (LNT) courses. Participants will also work with an AMC Trail Crew on a unique assignment chosen specifically for its ecological and conservational value & meet up with certified rock-climbing guides from International Mountain Expeditions (IME) for a day of climbing at Square Ledge, located just above Pinkham Notch. Staff will cover safety, proper equipment, tying in, and basic climbing techniques. This trip culminates in a backpacking trip to an AMC Hut which will emphasize the group experience as well as skills development. AMC activity rating for this trip is Moderate.
