JOIN US for a unique opportunity to XC ski the wonderful trails of Inland Northwest in Washington and British Columbia! This adventure was created by a local, and it showcases some of the best ski touring of his western homeland. This tour is geared for experienced intermediate level or better XC skiers, and you'll also have an opportunity for an optional day or two of alpine skiing. Our adventure begins in one of the leaders' hometown, Spokane, Washington, the city with a waterfall at its heart and outdoor beauty all around. After an afternoon of local XC skiing in the scenic Selkirk range, we'll head west across the Columbia Basin to the eastern slopes of the Cascade Range. There we'll spend three days touring in the Methow Valley, a network of more than 200 kilometers (about 130 miles) of groomed winter ski trails. Our home will be a luxurious mountaintop lodge that has out-the-door trail access. Ski touring will be in the range of around 10-20 km a day over rolling to mountainous terrain on groomed trails from a base lodge. Next, we'll take a scenic drive across the border into British Columbia's Kootenay range where we'll bed down in complete luxury in the historic mining town of Rossland. Here we'll have access to the famed Paulson XC ski trails in Nancy Greene Provincial Park. We'll also be slopeside at the Red Mountain alpine resort with easy access to Blackjack Ski Club XC touring center. Our adventure will then lead us back to Spokane for a farewell evening before heading off to wherever our next adventure takes us.
