Instruction in general mountain safety, clothing, equipment, nutrition, risk management and trip planning. Includes introduction to high mountain hiking and map and compass. Intended for individuals with medium amount of hiking experience who would like to move up to higher mountain activities safely. Anticipate hiking as much as 4 miles at a slow pace with occasional uphill grades. Spend maximum time outside in small group of 8 participants and two instructors. This workshop will begin promptly at 7:30pm on Friday evening, ending Sunday afternoon at approximately 4:30pm. do not follow your GPS some roads are closed due to mud in the spring .we will send you driving directions and a car pooling list about two weeks before the workshop .
