Location

Registration

Registration is required for this activity.

Overview

This one-day training is specifically for AMC Adopt-a-Trail volunteers, either new volunteers or those renewing their training. The training will cover the basic maintenance responsibilities of Adopters, stewardship techniques and safe tool use, reporting, and other program logistics. This will include hands-on practice out on trail. There is a 45-minute introductory video to watch before attending training, which is linked in the separate registration form, and is included below as well. Because much of the classroom content is covered in the video, the in-person training will primarily be spent on the trail. Come prepared to spend the day outdoors learning about trail features and basic maintenance techniques, such as drainage structure clearing and shaping, vegetation trimming, and trail corridor maintenance. Adopters will have the option to receive meals and lodging at Camp Dodge for the night before and/or after the program.
