Run the river backwards! Turning upstream to catch every surf and every eddy down the river gives you extra paddling practice and a sweet skills tune-up with low consequences on Class II whitewater. Plus it's ridiculously fun! Probable river choices are Pemi Bristol or Upper Winni We will need to shuttle several miles and can arrange this on the morning of our paddle at the put-in. Paddlers should have prior whitewater kayaking or canoe experience and equipment that is in good condition. The water will be VERY cold meaning that swims and rescues are riskier. Gear to bring: White water kayak or canoe, with flotation bags Paddle Spray skirt Helmet PFD Dry suit or full wet suit with a dry top - the water will be cold! Cold water paddle gloves Water/snacks Towel and dry clothes/layers for post-paddle Interested paddlers should register for the trip and will then be contacted by the trip leader to make sure the trip is a good fit for you. Additional details including meeting time and location will be provided once a paddler is approved to join the trip.
