Overview

We will meet at 10:00am near the Thompson-Neely House - east of River Road in the parking area next to the Delaware canal. We'll begin our hike by walking north on the old towpath to New Hope, then cross the bridge to Lambertville. We'll walk south on the D&R Canal park trail before beginning our climb up Goat Hill. On top we will enjoy fine views overlooking the wing dam & rapids in the Delaware River, plus views of New Hope. Plan to bring a pack lunch and/or snacks for a picnic stop on top of Goat Hill, before we begin the backtrack to our starting point. It is mostly level walking on good pathways, but you will notice the climb up Goat Hill midway through this 9-mile hike. Please bring water and outerwear appropriate to the weather forecast. Heavy rain may cancel hike. If in doubt, contact leader before 8:30am.
