Overview

We will hike up to the summit of Mount Pisgah including stops at the North and South viewpoints which overlook the surrounding valley. The hiking route has a total elevation gain of about 800 ft and includes rocky ups and downs, rock slabs and several stream crossings. We will travel through forest, along a gorge, alongside a stream and past sweeping fields. Hiking poles are strongly recommended. The total trip is 6+ miles. Plan to be out for 4+ hours depending on the pace of the group (which can vary). Wear warm water-proof hiking boots. Be prepared for a possibly wet and/or muddy trail including deep puddles. Wear moisture wicking layers and clothing appropriate for the weather including an extra pair of socks (just in case you get soaked). Bring the following in your Daypack/Backpack: a good lunch and snacks, at least 2 liters of water, a hat and gloves/mittens, extra socks. Hiking poles recommended. Hike information and details will be emailed to participants about 2 days prior to the hike. Parking is very limited, carpooling encouraged. Steady rain/ thunderstorms cancels. No dogs allowed on the hike, thanks for understanding The hike leaders reserve the right to adjust the route if conditions warrant and cannot guarantee the hike will be completed by any specific time.
