Overview

An AMC tradition for over 50 years, the annual NH Presidential Range hike is a strenuous and wonderful 9-day hut-to-hut group hiking adventure amid some of the most spectacular peaks in the White Mountains. Depending on trail conditions and the daily hike options you choose throughout the trip, you will cover between 40 and 70 miles and gain 16,000'-24,000' of elevation while targeting 30+ high peaks and land features, more than 20 of which are on the official AMC White Mountain Four Thousand Footers list (a.k.a. "the NH 48"). Based on hiker capabilities and personal route preferences, we do most of our hiking in small groups. For further details including plans for addressing key risks, visit http://www.amcnhprh.org. Please note that participants are expected to comply with the CDC, state and leader-directed pandemic precautions in place at the time of the trip. Registration deadline: June 4, 2024. Questions? Contact L Alex Nedzel at prh "at" hb.amcboston.org.

Elizabeth Ryan is a four-season hiking and backpacking leader with the AMC's Boston Chapter and Adventure Travel. She has completed the New Hampshire 4000 footers, hiked in the Baxter park area and explored some of the glaciated North-west peaks. International trips include hiking in the Scottish Highlands, Newfoundland, Iceland and New Zealand.

Leader

Jon finished a round of the New England Hundred Highest just before heading off to the Southwest for four years. He's thrilled to be back in New England and working seriously on the winter 4000-footers. Other fun had in the meantime includes the Pikes Peak Marathon and a rim-to-rim-to-rim run of the Grand Canyon. Goal-oriented but interested in keeping things safe and fun.
