This will be a Memorial Day weekend paddle on the West Branch Susquehanna River between Keating and Baker Run to be done as two day paddles. This gentle flowing river passes through the mountains of Sproul State Forest. The river trips will be run based on weather and water levels and we may hike on any day that we don't paddle. You need your own kayak or canoe for this trip. There are no rentals available. Inflatable kayaks are not permitted. A PA Launch Permit is required. All participants are required to wear an approved personal flotation device (PFD) and to sign the AMC liability release waiver. Securely attached water shoes or sandals are required. Flip flops are not acceptable. Dress in quick drying clothes and bring a set of dry clothes in your boat or car in case you get wet. Day 1 - Keating to Renovo is 12.8 miles. Day 2 - Renovo to Baker Run is 14.3 miles. This is a Class 1 river with some small ripples/rapids in a few sections. Participants are responsible for their own overnight accommodations.
