Overview

This trip is part of the Boston Chapter Spring Hiking Program (SHP) and is only open to enrolled participants of that program. Located near Mt. Jefferson, Mount Martha (3557', also known as The Other Owl's Head) provides sweeping views across the valleys that drop from the west of the Presidential Range. Our full hike acroos the ridge will cover about 5.3mi and climb 2000', and will take 4-5 hours at a moderate to relaxed pace. We will spot cars and start no earlier than 9:00am. You may be a good fit for a "Moderate" trip if you are participating in trips that gradually increase in difficulty level, distance, and elevation gain, including at least one SHP trip rated as "Easy" (or an equivalent outside of the program). To address unforeseen challenges such as adverse weather, unacceptable trail conditions or excessive crowding, the planned trip destination, activity and/or meeting place and time may be modified. In that event, participants may elect to join in that activity or opt out.
