The porkies have been busy at this this historic shelter. We will carry in lumber to replace the porcupine-chewed planks on the shelter floor. We'll also carry in a new bear box to replace the rusted out old one. Materials will be carried 1/2 mile on an off trail route to work site. Light carpentry skills with hand tools. Old planks will be cut up for firewood. Old bearbox will be carried out. We will meet at the Beartown State Forest Benedict Pond boat ramp parking and carpool to the access point Dress for the weather, wear sturdy shoes and long pants. Bring lunch/snacks and water to drink.
