First preference for these hikes will be given to those who attended the Spring Workshops on May 11, 2024. If space is available 4 days before each hike, registrations for others will be approved and you will receive a confirming email. An Information Sheet will be sent to all confirmed hikers. We will be hiking approximately 5 miles with minor elevation gain and loss at easy pace. The trails will be made up of colonial cart roads and single track paths, going through pine and hemlock groves, wetlands and old pastures. Some points of interest will be the old Russell-Hooper homestead, family grave plot and several beaver habitats. Wear suitable footwear for hiking and be prepared for the possibility of wet and muddy trail conditions. Dress for the weather in layers with no cotton. Bring a backpack with lunch, snacks, at least one liter of water and rain gear. You may also want a head net, insect repellent, sunscreen, hat and hiking poles. Meeting location will be emailed to participants a few days before the hike. We will hike in the rain with the exception of thunderstorms.
