Strenuous. 8.5 miles give or take. All day event. You need a car to get to this hike. (No public transportation option.) We will meet at the Spring Farm Trailhead. If not a Mohonk Preserve member, be prepared to pay $15 day fee. Limited to 12 people. RAIN WILL CANCEL If you are on Meetup, please sign up there; I'll post this hike on Meetup a week before the hike. Rock Scrambling and walking mix. You will need to use your arms for the scrambles. Need healthy ankles and good balance. (Surfaces are uneven and climbing between and through things may happen.) Please bring: More than 2 liters of water. Lunch/snacks. Hiking boots (not sneakers). Poles if you want them. But bring collapsible ones; you won't want long poles to drag around in scrambles. The path: Long initial walk via wooden paths and carriage roads to Rock Rift (Scramble). Walk to Mountain House area, Go through the Labyrinth (Scramble). Take wooden paths near lake to Eagle Cliff Ascent (Scramble up and back down). Lunch there. Walk to Cope's Lookout.
