Join us for an evening walk in historic and picturesque Yardley Borough. This walk will be at an easy to moderate pace through local neighborhoods, parks, and on the canal path. The 4.5 mile route will highlight some of the places that make Yardley special, including a small stretch of Main Street and a Victorian-era Library at Lake Afton. The first mile of the walk will be a bit hilly as we climb away from the Delaware River. Afterwards, we will have a short downhill walk towards Lake Afton, only to ascend slightly one more time before merging on to the flat and very walkable canal path. We will meet at the small hut in the parking lot of the Yardley SEPTA regional rail station on the Reading Avenue side of the tracks. There is a porta-potty available next to the hut. Please register if you plan to attend. All participants will sign the AMC legal waiver just prior to the walk. Please note that the walk will be cancelled if there is rain, thunder or lightening at the start time. This recurring walk will be led by Linda McAdams, hiking leader-in-training. Please contact leader of record if you have any questions. L Tammy Brown, [email protected]. For those who are hungry after the walk, there are plenty of places to grab a bite in Yardley, including a water ice / soft ice cream shop just a short distance from the train station.
