AMC Highland Center, U.S. 302, Bretton Woods, NH,
New Hampshire, White Mountains,
Join other families for a weekend of spring hiking in beautiful Crawford Notch, NH! Saturday we will hike Mt. Willard (3.2 miles RT) with gorgeous views down into Crawford Notch ….a classic "big bang for your buck" hike! Saturday night we enjoy dinner at Highland Center with option after to attend Highland Center evening program. We will stay at Shapleigh Bunkhouse (next to Highland Center) which sleeps 16 and is coed, heated, and includes bathrooms/showers, linens, and a common area. Sunday we will have a full buffet breakfast at the Highland Center next door followed by leader's choice hike depending on conditions and the group's abilities, possibly a hike into Arethusa Falls or up Elephant's Head and/or into Flume Gorge on the way home. Enjoy spring hiking at its best with views unobstructed by leaves, cool temperatures, and no bugs! Participants must have some previous hiking experience, but not necessarily in the White Mountains. In mid April we expect early spring warmer temps although there will likely be some lingering snow and ice. We will have microspikes available for that possibility. Space is limited to 16; registration is recommended as early as possible so you don't miss out! AMC Member Adults $90; kids age 12 and under $60. Non-member prices are respectively $100 and $70. Cost includes dinner Saturday, lodging Saturday night, and breakfast Sunday. Registrar: Doris Tennant, email@example.com,(617) 969-4082.
