265 Upper Gap Mountain Road, Troy, NH,
New Hampshire, Monadnock Region,
Here is your opportunity to help construct a major improvement to the Metacomet Monadnock Trail in NH and the trail up Gap Mtn. We're ready to construct the bridge where the NHMM Trail crosses the stream at the base of the south side of Gap Mt. in Troy. The bridge will be 26 feet long with a railing and will sit on cribs on either side of the stream. Mike Zlogar, the AMC Berkshire Section Trail Construction Guru, has designed the bridge and will precut the bridge materials and supervise the construction of the cribs and the bridge. Thursday, April 20th will be the second of three project days. We will use the day for crib building. We'll move in the material for the cribs, construct the cribs and fill them with rocks and gravel. All necessary tools and equipment will be provided, but feel free to bring your own work gloves. Please wear long pants, closed-toed shoes, and attire appropriate for the weather. Bring your lunch, snacks, and water. Please sign up by contacting Frank Bequaert at firstname.lastname@example.org. Come join us for a fun day getting work done on the trail!
