New York, Adirondacks,
NY

Overview

Most remote paddling route in Adirondacks. Beautiful mountains. Varied pond and lake habitats. Launch and base camp on Lake Lila around noon 8/23. Day 2 day along Shingle Shandy brook, to the mile carry to Lily Pad Pond, to a short carry to see Salmon outlet with it's cascades and rapids, then repeat mile carry back to base camp. Day 3, explore islands and inlets on Lake Lila. Leaders will coach skills (tarp & ropes, navigation, planned packing to avoid double carries.) AMC affordably rents canoes if you arrange car-topping to transport them. We can match you with a tandem partner, if needed. We'll arrange our own shuttle. Leaders guide you to cook the dinners and prep breakfasts. Especially designed as a follow-up to our June 2 weekend of canoe instruction (Moving Water Paddling!). Always a great, great time.
