New Hampshire, Lakes Region,
Want to brush up on your outdoor leadership skills and connect with other outdoor enthusiasts in their 20s & 30s? Take the first step to becoming an outdoor trip leader for your local AMC Chapter! At this Leadership Training designed specifically for 20s & 30s, participants will have a chance to network with other AMC Young Members (YM) from across the region and learn important leadership skills that will set them on the path to leadership in their local AMC Chapters and YM Committees. Topics of the training course will include: Map & Compass (optional), group dynamics, leaders' responsibilities, trip planning/management, weather emergencies, incident/accident scene management, and decision-making. The full program will start around 7PM on Friday, September 15, with the optional Map & Compass course starting at 4PM. This leadership training course will be happening on the same weekend as the 20s & 30s Trail Stewardship Weekend at Cardigan Lodge (link below)--this will give both groups the opportunity to learn, network, and socialize together in the evenings. Registration will be open until August 31 or until filled. Make sure to book your spot early, as we anticipate the spots will go fast! Fill out the registration form on this page (above) to register--once you have filled out the form, you will receive the information you need to complete your registration over the phone.
