Overview

Let's meet at 10:00 am in the parking area next to the Delaware canal - near the Thompson-Neely House at Bowman's Hill. We'll begin our hike by walking north on the old towpath to New Hope, then cross the bridge to Lambertville. We'll walk south on the D&R Canal park trail before beginning our climb to Goat Hill. On top we will enjoy fine views overlooking the wing dam & rapids in the Delaware River, plus views of New Hope. It is mostly level walking on good pathways, but you will notice the climb up Goat Hill midway through this 10-mile hike. Plan to bring a packed lunch and/or snacks for a picnic stop on top of Goat Hill. Please don't forget to bring plenty of water, sunscreen, and a rain shell. Heavy rain may cancel hike (light rain - no problem) . If in doubt, contact leader before 8:30am.
