We will spend the Sunday night of the program at Madrigal Lodge with dinner and breakfast provided by the Lodge Staff. On Monday the crew will hike the 2 miles to AMC High Cabin, just below the summit of Cardigan Mountain. The Crew will be based out of High Cabin the remainder of the week. Work locations may involve up to a half-mile hike in from High Cabin. The crews will work four days during the week, (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday) averaging 6-8 hours/day in the field, with Wednesday free for enjoying the area trails. Projects may include clearing drainage ditches, brushing back vegetation, hardening trails with gravel, constructing bog bridges, or building rock stairs or drainage structures.
While at Cardigan Lodge the crew will have bunk rooms and access to shared bats and shower facilities. For the majority of the week the crew will be based at High Cabin. This cozy cabin with great views is located just 0.5 miles from the summit of Cardigan Mountain.
