Pleasant 3 mile woodsy loop around Marsh Pond with possible sightings of ducks, geese and various other birds, cranberry bogs, followed by a 1.6 mile loop around little kettle holes which includes a portion of the 1623 Green Harbor Trail. There are some hills and uneven terrain, lots of roots, and flatter areas. Bring 1-2 liters of water, snacks, lunch, sturdy winter boots, a rain jacket, and layers for warmth. Hiking poles are optional. Light traction devices may be needed if snow is present (MicroSpikes, stabilicers, etc.).
Mayflower Street in Duxbury, section between Route 3A (Tremont Street - at the Fire Station) and where Mayflower makes a dog leg where it meets East Street at the Garden Club Island. The parking is 1.2 miles on R from the fire station off of 3A and .5 miles on the left from the dog leg if coming off Rt 3 via Exit 11 and the rotary to Lincoln which becomes Mayflower and turns left at the "Island" (There are several other pieces of Mayflower in Duxbury - this is the one the Transfer Station and Police Station are on.). Parallel parking along rail fences at the NHM parking area with additional parking about 200 feet across the street at the Round Pond Parking area and a few other spots nearby perpendicular to but off the road.
