Overview

Are you good with figures? And balance your checkbook each month? Well, we invite you to volunteer to be the Treasurer of the AMC Potomac Chapter. Being a small AMC Chapter, our bookkeeping and financial reporting requirements are very minimal. You do not need to be a bookkeeper or accountant. This position only takes an hour or two periodically through the year, except when you attend the Chapter's 2-hour Executive Committee bi-monthly meetings on six Sundays a year (with four of them in Washington DC and two of them being telephonic). Here are the requirements for Treasurer: •Be an AMC Potomac Chapter member. •Be elected yearly at the Chapter Annual meeting in November. (since we had no volunteer at the 2017 meeting, you would be appointed after a vote by the Chapter Executive Committee.) •Attend Chapter Executive Committee bi-monthly meetings and present the Treasurer's report and contribute to business discussions. •Maintain the Chapter's bank checking account --deposit checks paid for Chapter events and issue checks for chapter expenses. •Maintain a Chapter cash receipts ledger. •Prepare the Chapter annual audit report IAW based on AMC financial guidelines. •Prepare the Chapter annual budget based on input from Chapter Officers and Committees. In addition to having an AMC Finance and Administration Manual, there are AMC staff to provide guidance on being a Chapter Treasurer. Further information about the position can be gotten by contacting the Chapter Chair, Ken Shuck, at Chair@amcpotomac.org. Won't you volunteer to be "your" Chapter Treasurer?
