Approximately 4 ½ mile hike in the Holyoke Range in Hadley We will hike on a couple of the side trails in the western part of Skinner State Park. We will be on the following trails: briefly on the NET and the Lithia Springs; mostly on Black Rock, and Dry Brook. We will have some magnificent views of the valley and mountains to the north and to the southeast. Some downhill will be slippery, so hiking poles are strongly recommended. REQUIREMENTS of the hike include proper footwear (comfortable, sturdy, closed toes athletic shoes or hiking shoes with good traction), snacks and lunch, water (two liters should be enough for the average hiker on the average day, rain gear (if forecast calls for precipitation), hiking poles if you use them. MEETING TIME AND PLACE: Meeting time is 9:00am. The meeting location is on Old Mountain Rd. in Hadley at the gate entrance to Skinner State Park.
