Mohican Outdoor Center is looking for new Information Volunteers to help out on weekends in summer and fall. Information Volunteers ("Info Vols") are passionate about helping people enjoy the outdoors and learn about the natural world. They greet guests in a friendly manner, orient them to the facility, and offer advice about hiking trails and outdoor activity planning. Info Vols also provide information about conservation and natural history, help guests at the waterfront with boats and equipment, promote AMC membership, and may lead nature walks (with additional training).
Essential qualifications include experience hiking nearby trails; familiarity with the facility's lodging accommodations and outdoor activities; and an outgoing, friendly personality. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and pass an annual criminal background check.
Benefits: Receive free meals and lodging, and retail discounts, while volunteering.
Schedule: Mohican Info Vols serve on weekends only, June through mid-October.
Commitment: Commit to volunteering at least 32 hours per year, for at least three years. Participate in a training weekend every spring for the first three years as a volunteer, and once every three years after that.
2018 Training: The volunteer training weekend will be held at Mohican Outdoor Center, April 20-22, 2018.

AMC Trip Policy
/ $40 non-member
*The $40 rate is for the training weekend. Its includes lodging, meals, and all training sessions. Lodging will be in shared bunkrooms. Once trained, Mohican Information Volunteers receive free meals and lodging while they are volunteering.
