Overview

This is a moderate hike with usual ups and downs and some scrambling. We will be taking the Sterling Ridge, Lake-To-Lake and Jennings Hollow Trails. There will be the remains of an Ironworks plantation from the Revolutionary era. Meet 9:20 am with food, plenty of fluids and good hiking boots. We would like to be on the trails by 9:30. No email or texts on day of hike (can't respond if driving). Please email richiam@aol.com to let us know if you are coming. Check your email by 7 a.m. to confirm hike. Take Skyline Drive to its northwestern terminus at Greenwood Lake Turnpike (County Route 511). Turn right and continue for 5.3 miles, crossing a causeway over the Monksville Reservoir and passing the historic buildings of the Long Pond Ironworks to the right. Park in a large parking area on the left (south) side of Greenwood Lake Turnpike, opposite East Shore Drive. 1400 Greenwood Lake Tpke, Hewitt, NJ41.141167, -74.31602
