The Mt. Vernon Hotel was constructed in 1799 as a carriage house. From 1826 to 1833 the property operated as a fashionable country resort. Later it was occupied by three generations of a New York City family. This quiet treasure is now tucked away between Bloomingdale's and the Ed Koch Bridge amidst construction and congestion. Come and discover the secrets of this hidden gem as you tour its eight period rooms, explore New York history and the decorative arts. A walk follows the tour; lunch in an indoor atrium (bring your own). Limited to 20 people; registration required. Tour fee: $10/$9 for seniors. Meeting time at 10:30 am. Details provided upon registration.
