What: AMC 2018 Speaker Series - Josh Klainberg When: Tuesday February 27th, 6:30-8:00PM Where: West Side YMCA,5 W 63rd St, New York, NY 10023 - George Washington Room The New York-North Jersey Chapter is pleased to announce its first conservation-specific speaker for 2018: Josh Klainberg, Senior Vice President of the New York League of Conservation Voters. NYLCV is a non-partisan statewide environmental organization in New York that fights for clean water, clean air, renewable energy and open space through political action. During this session, Josh will paint the current big picture of New York state conservation policies, how they are formulated, and NYLCV's priorities for the next election. Josh will spend time covering the basics of the policy process including creation, evaluation, and endorsement of both policies and candidates, as well as what you can do to make a difference in 2018! About the Speaker and New York League of Conservation Voters (NYLCV): As Senior Vice President of NYLCV, Josh works closely with all department heads, providing guidance and assistance in the planning, implementation and analysis of projects. Over the years, he has played a key role in many statewide and local level non-partisan voter engagement campaigns, candidate forums, ballot initiatives, issue campaigns, lobbying efforts and independent expenditure campaigns. NYLCV's current 2018 policy agenda addresses topics like developing a statewide plan to address the root causes of climate change, pushing to meet renewable energy goals, and conserving natural resources.
