Overview

Always wanted to know about the Bay Circuit Trail and Greenway, conceived in 1929 as an "Outer Emerald Necklace" between I-495 and 128 mirroring Boston's famed Olmsted-designed "Emerald Necklace"? Join AMC Family Outings Wednesday evening May 2nd from 6:30 - 8 pm at Thayer Memorial Library in Lancaster, MA for a Multimedia Presentation "Hiking the Bay Circuit Trail: A Video Journal". Dan & Marilyn Brielmann along with Alan French will be your guides taking you along the Bay Circuit Trail, a 200 mile natural wonder that arcs the city of Boston from Newburyport to Kingston. Dan and Marilyn, professional videographers, incorporate their video and musical talents in this documentary. Alan French, Founder and Chairman and Executive Director Emeritus of the Bay Circuit Alliance Inc. (BCA) joins to talk about the more than 25 years he was involved with this project and making it a reality. "Long Live The Bay Circuit"! Alan turned over the leadership of the Bay Circuit Trail (BCT) in 2012 to The Trustees of Reservations and the AMC and Kristen Sykes as lead organization. AMC is gap filling the few remaining missing trail links and provides trail stewardship. Waterproof printed BCT map and guide is available from the AMC at amcstore.outdoors.org/booksmaps/maps/massachusetts/bay-circuit-trail-map-and-guide. Past participants say...

The Bay Circuit trail has so many great hidden spots, some feel so secluded you would never know you are in a populated area. We are so lucky to have such a great trail network!
