A great trip for beginner backpackers. Camp out three nights a total distance of 20 miles. Start with a gentle hike in on Seneca Creek Trail a few miles. Set up a base camp for the weekend and do a loop hike on Saturday and another on Sunday. Saturday and Sunday hikes will have some moderate elevation gain. Lots of waterfalls and stream crossings. Lots of time for swimming and relaxing. This trip is suitable for dogs that are used to hiking and are friendly around people they do not know. Dogs must be on leash at all times. I have been leading backpacking trips for the Appalachian Mountain Club and the Adirondack Mountain Club since 1975. I enjoy taking the time to look at the scenery and have a relatively slow pace. I am patient with beginners and enjoy helping them learn new skills.
