Fee covers Friday and Saturday night lodging, 2 breakfasts (Saturday and Sunday morning), and dinner (Saturday evening). Trail lunches and happy hour beverages are not included. BYOB. Depending on the group and conditions we will hike a 4K peak on Saturday. Plan to hike approximately 5-9 miles with less than 3,500 feet of elevation gain. If the weather forecast is for high wind a lower peak will be substituted. Sundays hike will be a leaders choice destination of a lower 4k or hundred highest peak. Alternate hikes may be substituted dependent on the weather. Register at REGI link: https://regi.amcboston.org/event/1725.
Harvard Cabin is located just off NH Rt. 16, north of the town of Jackson and south of Pinkham Notch. You want to get to the intersection of Rt. 16 and US 302 NORTH of North Conway. At the intersection in Glen, note the odometer reading. Proceed North on Rt. 16. At 6.1 miles, watch for extra wide shoulders on each side of the road. Try to park on the right side, the cabin is located on the East side (right hand side). You should see a pathway from the shoulder or a driveway, just to the south, up a hill. Follow it to the cabin; it's about 100 feet from the road. If you drive up to Dana Place, you have gone too far - turn around and try again. If you are using one of those GPS thingies, set it for Washburn Way, Jackson NH. Washburn Way is immediately before the location of the Cabin. Allowing for Friday evening traffic, it will take about 3 and 3/4 hours to get there from downtown Boston, not counting a stop for dinner. Please try and be at the Cabin by 11:00 PM.
