Enjoy a seven-mile mostly flat-water paddle down the North Branch of the Raritan River from Bedminster through North Branch to Branchburg. Along the way, it passes farmlands (Snearowiski Farm only one of them) and several parks (White Oak Park, North Greenway Park, North Branch Park). There is one portage just before Rt. 202 over a small spillway. Our journey will end at the confluence of the North and South Branches of the Raritan River. We will stop at the crossing for Rt. 28 in North Branch for a snack. There is an option for an early out at the lunch stop. All details will be sent to registered participant one week before scheduled day.
Schedule: Arrive at put-in by 11:00 am. Be ready for a shuttle by 11:30 pm. This will get us on the river by 12:15 pm or earlier.
Kayak or Canoe OK. Recommend no boats over 14 Feet.
Cancelation Policy: This trip will be postponed or canceled if there is continuous heavy rain, 70% chance or better pending heavy thunderstorms, or water level that is below 2.8 Ft or above 6.0 feet (as per USGS 01399830 Gauge on the North Branch Raritan River at Rt. 28 in North Branch NJ). Kayaking is an all-weather sport so we will go in light rain.
