In the morning we'll hike 2500-ft. Ticeteneyck Mtn. (3.5 mi. R/T; @1400 ft. ascent), just E of Boiceville, NY. Alan Via, author of The Catskill 67, writes that, with the leaves off the trees, there are views all the way to the summit, culminating in a grand vista of the Ashokan Reservoir and an amazing array of high and low peaks.
After working up an appetite, we'll retreat to Bread Alone in Boiceville for one of their gourmet lunches. https://www.breadalone.com/boiceville-example
Once refueled, we'll head out to climb 3000-ft. Silver Hollow (Edgewood) Mtn. This is a 4-mi. R/T hike with an 1150-ft. ascent. About this mountain, Alan Via says, "Although there is not much to see from the summit, the views along the way, especially when the leaves afre off the trees, are showy."
Bring water, water-proofed hiking boots, snacks - no need to bring lunch unless you don't like Bread Alone's food. Dress for the weather. Bring traction devices, e.g. Microspikes, Stabilicers, crampons (no YakTrax). Snowshoes may be necessary.
