Join us for a moderately paced, 5 mile hike to Mt. Piper and Mt. Whiteface in the Belknap Mountain Range. This is a great trip for anyone working towards their Belknaps patch or if you want a pretty winter hike in the Lakes Region. Recent winter hiking experience is required, along with appropriate winter gear.
You will need light traction MicroSpikes, or equivalent, insulated winter boots, snowshoes, gaiters, and waterproof layers. A decision on what traction to carry with us will be made at the trailhead and is dependent on trail and weather conditions. See full gear recommendations at hbbostonamc.org/docs/Gear_lists/Winter_Dayhike_equip.pdf and ask a leader/co-leader if you have any questions.
Alex enjoys hiking in all seasons. While best known for fast-paced single day, multi-peak mega-hikes and gnarly back country bushwhacks, he will enjoy sharing his love for the mountains just about anywhere, with hikers at all ability levels.
