X-Country Ski with Rentals for Beginner/Intermediate - Young Members (20s/30s & Young-at-Heart)

Date and Time

Saturday, March 31, 2018, 9:15AM - 2:15PM

Massachusetts, Berkshires,

Registration is required for this activity. Please contact leader(s).

The Plan: We'll head out on Notchview's groomed trails and ski together as a group. We won't count the miles, but will plan to be out for 3-4 hours with a stop in between at the warming hut. You may leave at any point during the day, or stay even later on your own. Read more about Notchview here: View the trail map here: Skill Level: We hope to find participants for this trip who are all roughly at the same skill level so that our group stays together easily. Therefore, if you can stay on your own two feet (and skis) without falling every five minutes, then you're good to go! If it has been a while since you last skied and you would like to have a little extra time beforehand to practice, then you may arrive early since Notchview opens at 8am. (If you're already an advanced skier then the pace of this trip will likely feel too slow for you.) Registration: Additional details about the meeting location, etc. will be provided by email a few days before the trip to those who register. Adam will be available (upon your advanced request) from 8:30-9am to do a brief skills review. Admission: -The price at the door for members of the Trustees of Reservations is $8. -The price at the door for non-members of the Trustees of Reservations is $15. Gear: -x-cntry boots, poles, and skis are available to rent on site for $20 per day (this is in addition to the price for admission). -2 pairs of socks (thin and thick). -multiple insulating layers (no cotton). Food: Bring snacks and insulated water bottles for the trail. Also, there is a tiny menu available on site with chili, bagels, and Punjabi samosas. Sometimes they have sandwiches, and they're working on a vegetarian soup recipe that should be available soon. There are also a couple of general stores down the street for anyone who gets hungry on the way home. They are… Sangar General Store, 1895 Route 9, Windsor, MA Friendly Fred's Package Store, 1173 Route 9, Windsor, MA
