Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site in PA,
Registration is required for this activity.
Please contact leader(s).
This is NOT a workout hike! This is a day hike for beginner backpackers or those wishing to warm up to get their full pack on with all their gear to include tent, food, water, clothing, etc. that would be carried for several days.
We will start at the visitor center at the Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site. We will cover 10 +/- 2 miles along Lenape Trail up to Miller's Point for a nice view, and back to the site by way of Buzzard's Trail. We have many options of changing the route to accommodate mileage if need be.
This is not a workout hike, but is meant for those of you who have not been out with a full pack to experience one full day of having first hand experience. Please bring a lunch, your snacks for the day, dinner food for the trail (although we won't have dinner out there, I hope!), and your drinks. Those that attended the workshop are given first preference. A gear list will be provided upon registration. Registration required.
This is a great opportunity to "work the bugs out" with others and not feel the pressure, only camaraderie! Please join us.
