Overview

AMC's Outdoor Skills 101 offerings are designed to provide basic skills and knowledge to have a successful and enjoyable outdoor experience. Time is spent in the classroom and in the field putting your newly obtained skills to work. During this skills focused weekend, participants will learn and participate in a variety of survival and primitive skills, including the following: •Preparing for and preventing a survival scenario (route planning, creating a basic trip itinerary, the ten essentials, LNT principles, environmental hazards/considerations, thinking like a survivor, etc.) •Survival Shelter Building •Fire Building •Water Sourcing/Treatment •Natural Navigation Techniques •Rescue Techniques New for 2019!
