Overview

Join us on a hike up to the beautiful overlooks of the Pinnacle and Pulpit Rock. We will hike around 8 miles at a moderate to brisk pace. We should have around 1000 feet elevation with no super steep hills. The trails are established, but there is a boulder scramble section. We are doing the same route before lunch as Raun in his 9AM hike, but at a slower, more relaxing pace. I will try to keep the group closer together than the faster-paced hikes, but we will move as fast as the group allows. The plan is to meet up with the other group at the Pinnacle for lunch so we need to leave a bit earlier. If you feel like you are in the wrong group, then you can switch to the other hike to go faster and farther when we meet up. Please read his hike description and all his comments too. The starting location is the Hamburg Reservoir Parking lot at the end of Reservoir Road, northwest of the town of Hamburg, PA. The GPS coordinates are 40.55386, -75.94187. We will meet there at 8:30AM and leave soon after. Older children are welcome. I ask that the parent or guardian be familiar with the trail and be present to ensure you child can hike with the group in a safe manner. Please post a Meetup comment with the child's age so other hikers know what to expect. Ensure the hike leader can contact you for further questions if needed. Dogs on a leash at all times are welcome. Same rules as bringing a human child. Please bring the usual stuff including hiking boots/shoes, water, snacks, lunch, appropriate cold weather gear for exposed locations. It is advisable to wear orange due to a nearby state game land. Bring traction devices for your boots in your car if there is a chance you will need them. This hike will only be canceled due to adverse driving conditions such as heavy snow or ice. I will post Meetup comments 90 minutes before hike if applicable.
