Overview

Join us on a relaxing ride along the Columbia Trail in Hunterdon County, NJ. The trail was built along an abandoned railroad corridor and is named for the Columbia Gas Line constructed under the abandoned rail bed. The route is relatively flat and shaded as it parallels the meandering South Branch of the Raritan River. The trail surface is mostly crushed stone with short segments of larger gravel or dirt. The ride will be out and back from High Bridge to Bartley Road for a total of 30 miles at a pace of 10-12 mph. We will meet at Commons Park (79 Main Street, Highbridge, NJ). Hybrid or Mt. Bikes are recommended. Helmets are mandatory. Bring plenty of water, snacks, lunch and an extra tube and repair kit just in case. Rain cancels.
