Overview

Mount Cardigan's 3,121-foot treeless granite summit affords outstanding views of west central New Hampshire, with a panorama that includes Mount Monadnock and the White Mountains, Camel's Hump in Vermont, and Pleasant Mountain in Maine. "Old Baldy" as its locally known is a perfect big mountain hike for families, this 5-mile round trip rewards with inspiring 360-degree views. Great for families with children ages 6 and up. Program Highlights: •Hike to the summit of Mount Cardigan 5 mile round trip elevation gain 1660 feet. Fantastic views from the top •Optional hike on Sunday to Welton Falls •Campfire on Saturday night •Introduction to backcountry safety; how to pack a pack, basic weather terms, hike safe principals, leave no trace principals •Geared for families with active children who are looking for a guided adventure to start a lifetime of hiking
